The Work is a fitness program led and created by celebrity/athlete trainer, Amoila Cesar. This guy is an inspiration - google him. I'm mentioning this program because as a personal trainer you need to constantly learn and challenge yourself, hence, my commitment to starting The Work. Now, this program is not for the faint of heart, let alone for a postpartum body. It's intense... you need to get in shape before getting in shape with this workout. So with that said, it's important for me to be clear that I've done 'My Work' to be able to even attempt this level of training... 'My Work' meaning, I've progressed slowly and done corrective exercise to allow my body to be able to sustain the impact, power, endurance, stability, strength and mobility that this program demands. This has taken years and consistency. Being a certified postpartum trainer and having endured a birth injury, I'm actually very lucky because I'm aware of this progression and the prevention of further injury while exercising, but for the average postpartum gal...this is uncharted territory. The pressures of wanting "to get your body back" and jumping into hard core fitness regiments does more damage than good. So, what I'm trying to convey is ... do some preliminary work and you can progress into something like "The Work", if that's what you desire. I'll be keeping you up to date on my progress with this program here or you can follow me on Instagram @bayfitwoman.
